Become a Preceptor

The ATM Midwifery Training Program is required by Texas law to retain records on preceptors and course instructors. Preceptors must meet minimum experience requirements of either 3 years experience since licensure/certification, or 50 births since licensure/certification. **NOTE** Until you are “active” in Typhon none of the clinical experiences with any students will count towards their graduation hours.

Application Process

Complete the online application and be prepared to submit the following forms & documents:

  • Preceptor Application Form (online form)

  • Signed Preceptor Agreement

  • Copy of current Midwifery License

  • Copy of your Resume or CV

  • Proof of CPM status (if applicable)

  • Non-CPM, out-of-state licensed midwives must submit copies of CPR for Health Care Providers and Neonatal Resuscitation Certification cards

  • Proof of ATM Associate or Lifetime Membership if you joined less than one month prior to submitting the preceptor application. A copy of the membership application and payment receipt may be used.
