CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING A PARENT! Whether you already have children or this is your first baby, you have been making vital decisions for the little one growing inside you since you first knew you were with child. Everything that goes into your body, the amount of rest and exercise you get, and the caregiver you choose are all important decisions you will make.
I almost died during the birth of my first child in the hospital from some retained placenta. I had to have 2 pints of blood, so I couldn't breastfeed until the third day. When I was pregnant with my second child (in 1982), I was going to school. I was also going to church with a midwife. While going to school, I witnessed births where the mother (and baby) were treated according to the schedule and wishes of the clinical staff. THEN.........I was invited to assist in a home birth with the midwife. I was captured by the tender-loving, professional care given and received as we all worked together to help give this baby a peaceful entrance into the world. The mom (and dad) were pampered and encouraged according to their birth plan.
Needless to say, I became a midwife and have been attending women for 30 years. After all this time, I am still filled with excitement each time I hear the baby for the first time, get the call to attend a birth, or stand watching as a couple gets to know their new born babe in the comfort of their own home. That kind of excitement never grows old. Whether you desire a home birth, water birth, outside birth, or have new ideas of your own, I will give my best to help you have your baby your way.
I have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I have had the great blessing of catching my two grandsons! I believe I am called to be a midwife, but all that I have accomplished, God has done for me. He is ever faithful!
