Attention midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, midwives, doctors, nurses! Earn additional CEU's during a 2 day event presented by Vicki Penwell, CPM with Mercy in Action on March 1-2. Click here for more information. The National Association of CPMs (NACPM) is excited to gather CPMs from across the states in an effort to increase professional recognition, licensure, and most importantly women's access to midwifery care during their NACPM Symposium in spring 2012! The website is still in progress, so we are encouraging everyone to sign up for Symposium updates, which will be forthcoming as details unfold. NACPM would love to have your support through membership. If you're interested, go to www.nacpmcommunity.org to "Join or Renew"! There is a discounted rate if you are a member of another state or national midwifery organization. |

Our Goals
ATM works hard to represent the interests of midwives all across the state of Texas.
We keep a close eye on legislation, and attend meetings of the Texas Department of
Health Midwifery Board to be sure the needs of Texas midwives are communicated.
Through the help of their Regional Directors, ATM members are able to keep informed of
current issues. Every member is encouraged to express her/his concerns to the ATM
Board of Directors and to the Midwifery Program. If you are a Texas Midwife and have
not already done so, we encourage you to join us.
Mission Statement
To advance the quality and accessibility of midwifery in Texas.
Image Statement
ATM nurtures the profession and traditions of midwifery in Texas.
Statement of Philosophy
As midwives, we believe the practice of midwifery to be distinct from the practice
of medicine. Midwifery is a discipline pertaining to a normal cycle of life, the
childbearing years. We base our profession on the midwifery model of care:
