ATM Midwifery Training Program
Options for Out-of-State Students:
Option 1.
Complete the program as prescribed for Texas
students, including attending all the workshops and apprenticing with a CPM or
CNM. By using this option, you will be able to sit the NARM exam as a Texas
Agency candidate (you can test at a site other than Texas if more convenient).
You will then be able to document in Texas and use your Texas Documentation to
apply for NARM certification (CPM). Texas midwifery educational requirements
have been evaluated for educational equivalency by NARM, this means you will have
skills assessed by your preceptor (as part of the course) and will not have to
participate in the NARM Skills Assessment as part of the CPM process.
Option 2.
This option is for use as an independent study
guide only and will not qualify you for NARM Certification.
If you choose not to document in Texas and apply for NARM Certified Professional
Midwife status as a Texas Agency candidate, you may omit: attending the workshops
and the apprenticeship period. After submitting the assignments from the first
module of study you will receive the next module of study . Course installment
payments must be made prior to receiving each successive module of study. When
you have completed all five modules of study and passed the related exams, you
will be given a letter verifying your completion of academics only. ( If you should
choose to change over to the program as prescribed by Texas law, you will be required
to attend any missed workshops and complete an apprenticeship period with an approved
Preceptor.)
